This beautiful old Spanish cello, hand-made by Javier Portales, circa 1950, comes with J.J. Rampal certificate - Paris.

A super rare instrument, made in his personal style, full of character, only a few cellos made by him survived.

The wood selection is quite fine: striped maple back pattern.

The cello has its beautiful reddish-brown varnish/patina, and is ready to play, with new bridge and strings and carbon endpin.

This cello produces a big, warm en powerfull cello sound with strong basses, and a full singing A string.
