A beautiful French violin bow made by Joseph Voirin ca.1880 - certified by J.F. Raffin in Paris.
This Voirin bow is branded by the maker "JH Voirin a Paris", the work of Jospeh Voirin is extremely rare,
and this is a very rare master piece in a good condition.
Plays well, strong, and reasonably priced. Quality similar to Vigneron.
Joseph Voirin (b.1837, d.1895) was a French bow maker, born in Mirecourt, he was the younger brother of Frannçois Nicolas Voirin,
a highly esteemed bow maker and cousin of famed luthier J. B. Vuillaume.
The superbe stick has a beautifull head and it is made of fine pernambuco wood, its not to soft, and beautifully and elegant crafted.
All the parts are original,no cracks or repairs, ready to play, nickel-silver mounted, new hair and tipplate.
The lenght of the stick is 72.8 cm (4/4 size), and the weight of the bow is 60.2 g.
