A fine old cello - Michael-Ange Garini, ca. 1900.
A beautifull old 4/4 Michael-Ange Garini Cello by J Thibouville Lamy, made ca. 1900.
This beautiful cello comes with a certificate of authenticity.(J. Rampal in Paris).
This cello is a good sounding instrument, : JTL maintained high standards in choice of materials, workmanship,
and most of all in tone production. This cello looks beautiful with its old patina of deep wine-red/brown colour.
A nice 2-piece maple back, flamed ribs, neck, and a well made round and elegant scroll.
The fine elegant flamed structure of the wood pattern on the side and back of the cello is hand-pained,
and this is quite an example of superior workmanship (a technique that only JTL and the builders of Milan used)..
This cello comes with a new set of professional strings, a new bridge + professional tailpiece, new carbon endpin,
and is ready to play.
The sound is very good : a warm, and full sound with a mature tonal timbre; as you may expect from this kind of old cello.
A sound sample is available on request.
The cello is in a good structural condition - no cracks or serious repairs, (minor edge repair)
