Violin By Joann Keffer, Goisern 1799.
Johann Keffer (II - also named Joannes Keffer) worked circa. 1760-1810 in Goisern and Ischl - Austria.
His instruments are hard to find and are known for their good tonal qualities and often resonant warm tonal tiimbre.
The violin is not made in his workshop, or ' in his circle of .... ' but made by him self, and
this violin comes with a reliable certificate (J. Rampal from Paris- included).
He is also knwon for his fine and accurate work.
This lovely violin wears its original label inside.
A very fine violin with a beautiful brownish varnish, in shades of brown/reddish/ colours, on a yellow ground.
This Joannes Keffer violin is made of beautiful wood - a fine two-piece back,
flamed ribs and a superbe carved round scroll with character. (scroll later)
The violin generates a strong and warm tone, with plenty of personality, it is a very fine violin for orchestral work or ensemble playing.
The violin comes with a new set of strings and a new chinrest, tailpiece.
