A beautiful French violin bow made by Andre Vigneron - certified by J.F. Raffin in Paris.

Vigneron bows are highly regarded.

The stick is made from the finest red brown pernambuco wood, and the elegant shaped head shows a great level of refinement, lightness, and precision.

A very nice example of this French master bow maker.

Beautiful French ebony frog with pearl eyes and three part silver button with pearl eye.
Both frog and button are from anather great French violin bow and look and fit well.

The total length of the stick is around 72,5 cm and the weight of the bow is 60,5 gr - balance point ca. 24.8 cm.


Andre VIGNERON

VIGNERON, André Born 1881, died 1924 Mirecourt France. Known as ‘Vigneron fils’. Son, pupil, and assistant of Joseph Arthur (Vigneron Père), below. Succeeded to the business 1905, but continued to use his father’s brand. His own came into use c.1910, with the bow numbered beneath the frog. Employed A. Husson from c.1920, and later L. Piernot. Produced a specially lengthened ‘Capet’ model for the virtuoso Lucien Capet. Round sticks with deep red- or orange-brown wood. Branded: ANDRE VIGNERON A PARIS or VIGNERON-PARIS [Millant/Raffin]
