A beautiful French silver mounted violin bow made by Louis Piernot, certified by J.F. Raffin in Paris.
PIERNOT, Marie-Louis Born 1880 Neufchâteau France. Bow maker.
Pupil of C. Bazin. Worked for Vigneron, Bernardel, and finally established independently in Paris from 1923.
Workshop in Parmain, Eine-et-Oise. Highly regarded.
A very nice example of this French master bow maker.
Beautiful ebony frog with pearl eyes and three part button with pearl eye.
The strong but elegant stick is made from the finest red brown pernambuco wood and is octogonal shaped,
The total length of the stick is around 73 cm and the weight of the bow is c. 60 gr.
The bow is ready to play, with new hair, lizzard leather grip and winding.
All parts original (except the button)
No cracks or reparations, good curve.
