About Lucien Schmitt :

He was born in 1892 Geneva Switzerland, d. after 1949 Maylan France. Studied the violin at Geneva conservatoire.
Trained for two years as a luthier in Mirecourt with Mougenot. Studied bow making with Bazin.
Worked for Vidoudez in Geneva, Lorange in Lyons, Madame Bovis in Nice, and Caressa and Français in Paris.
