French cello bow made by Prosper Colas, ca. 1900.

Prosper Colas (1842 - 1919) was trained in Mirecourt and worked for J.B. Vuillaume in Paris.

This cello bow impersonates all of the superbe playing qualities that French bows are well known for.

This cello has a beautiful brown pernambuco stick, strong, but still souple and  elegant, it  draws a full and refined cello sound.

The lenght of the stick is 69 cm (4/4 size), and the weight of the bow is ca. 80 g.

Nickel-silver mounted. All parts are original !

It comes with a new hair, new winding, ready to play.
