A fine old violin by Charles J.B. Collin Mézin père - ca. 1880.
A beautiful old certified French violin by Jean Baptiste Collin-Mezin- made ca 1876-1880.
This lovely instrument is wearing its original label, dated and signed inside.
An unusually fine and very rare  Collin-Mézin from his very good period between 1870-1880, with original label.
The rich brownish/red oil varnish is attractively textured ; a very good workmanship as you may expect from this famous violin maker.
The sound is big, well projected, mature and warm in character.
This Collin-Mezin violin responds very easily and has a well balanced tone in all the registers of the instrument.
This beautiful instrument is in a good condition (small professional repair table), and comes with a reliable certificate of authenticity - see pics!
New tailpiece and strings included.
